We watched The Cat in the Hat. Some of it was absolutely terrible (the script). And some of it was really brilliant. There was some great one liners. The sets were fantastic. They were the highlight actually. There was not really any plot at all. It's one of those films that makes you understand why film-makers always say you must have three acts. It just felt empty. As good as Cat in the Hat is, you can't turn a short book into a full length film without some story line. But that's OK. I still enjoyed it a lot.
On IMDB it's rated the 46th worst film of all time. I think that's probably a bit harsh.
