No Linux and No Port 22

I've been pottering around the university today in my breaks. Trying to find one computer with Linux or even just with an outgoing SSH port open. Apparently all the schools are different and only let people from their school use their computers. And my school doesn't have Linux or port 22. So I'm stuffed. Unless I choose a subject purely because it happens to be in a good faculty. And by "good faculty" you can obviously read "faculty with nicer computers than the faculty of commerce". I might offer just to pay one of the other schools to let me use them.

I just went through all the socs again looking for interesting ones. I reckon I'll join the LAN gaming soc. But apart from that there don't seem to be any active, interesting ones. I thought universities had heaps of socs, and students spent their whole lives dreaming up crazy things to do in their socs. But no does anything crazy. There isn't even a philosophy club. And there's no computing club. It's not like we're that small.

Hmyah. Maybe I just need a hobby.
