I blogged about people saying "just" all the time when they pray. I thought it was strange, and a bit funny. I didn't think anyone else noticed it, and felt kind of cynical. But Lauren noticed it too and she's a proper Christian, so she's allowed to talk about that sort of thing.
people who work in the Melb Fusion office could tell you all about “just” praying! I hate it when people say that – as Christians prayer is the most powerfull tool we have! So I’ve been training them with my pyschological mind tricks to get rid of the word just – with prayer and in general! I’m not just a Fi! I am Fi!

at our youth group we pick ourselves and each other up on using “just”. we tell God we don’t mean “just blah”, we mean blah. it’s funny hows it’s totally invaded prayer jargon

I can remember talking about the “God, I just wanna …” praying issue back in my teens. After all this time, it’s still something I have to pull myself up on when praying. “I just wanna pray without saying just …”

Oh, what a relief. The first time I noticed I couldn’t stop myself from giggling about it.
