The government is providing more money to combat social security fraud. They intend to:

Increase in the number of cases Centrelink refers to the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions for consideration for prosecution action. Centrelink

Surely they mean "increase the proportion of cases referred". You would hope that they don't have direct control over the number of fraud cases that occur. Unless they want to start referring fraud cases before they have occurred. It would be a very Liberal sort of thing to do.

In other news, Centrelink won't let me report my income this week. I have a sneaking suspicion it's going to be one of those fortnights when I don't get paid anything. I blame the budget. Lousy economists.
