Cookie Jar, which Jack Johnson sang, is quite a bit like Who Killed Davey Moore?, which Bob Dylan sang. Except that Jack Johnson tells you who killed Davey Moore at the end of the song. Which I suppose is his style.
Update: Bob is well good.

I have, very very occasionally, found jack to be, lyrically, a little bit similar to bob. Something about his insight into women, or maybe just how men feel about women, which few other singers seem to quite be able to master (in my experience). (Robert Smith being another one who does.) Perhaps, in this respect too, jack tends to give the ending away while bob doesn’t really think there is one.
P.s. Did you know that in each of the last 7 posts before this one you used the word ‘good’ at least once. It seems silly to have a post about bob, and even one about jack, without the word good in it at all. Especially at the tail of such a tradition.

You are right about both things I reckon.
