Craniopagus Parasiticus

My parents said I was an accident. They thought I was a tumor.

Rebeca, a baby girl is having her spare head removed. However the brain on the extra head seems to work, and the mouth of the head moves when Rebeca is breastfeeding. Doctors say they have to remove the head because it's growing so fast that soon it will be too heavy for her to lift. Apparently pre-natal tests suggested that the head was just a tumor.

  1. I understand that baby 2 had a brain. So I am wondering she feels/felt pain as she dies?? Do you think she feels sad because of all this?? Was she named?? Do you think Rebeca will miss her twin?. I am sorry for the parents experiencing this, must be so heart breaking, but I am sure little Rebecca will be a blessing to them. :)

  2. So the folks finding this know, Rebeca died the morning after the successful surgery from bleeding in the head.

  3. I’ll preface this by saying it is a sad story no matter what, and I am not a heartless jerk. That said, it’s probably 50/50 that the 2nd one’s facial movements were responses to what the first one was doing. i.e. when baby 1 feeds, baby 2’s lips purse, when 1 smiles, 2 smiles. Not that it makes this whole mess any better, but #2 might not be as “all there” as some of the news are reporting.
