Money can buy happiness

Despite what everyone says, I think that money can buy happiness. At least very silly, short spurts of happiness. But everyone has different things that do it for them. Some people buy shoes or clothes. Some people would probably buy jewellry. Tom and Howie would probably buy a buddy. Jason might buy a tie. More than a few people seem to like buying underwear or lottery tickets. Trendy people might buy an arty book. But if I was really down, none of those things would pull me out of it. For me, what always does it are vegie pasties. Vegie pasties from Coles Hornsby. Vegie pasties for the fabulous price of $1.39. I like opening the freezer to get one. I liked buying a pastie at the counter, and nothing else. I like walking them home. I like that they take 3 minutes to cook - just enough time to get you excited, but not so long that you start cooking something else in the meantime (which is a common problem for me). For me vegie pasties prove that money can buy a little piece of happiness.

Imagine if the Israelites had turned a whole lot of vegie pasties into a cow while Moses was on Mt Sinai. And they'd danced around it, and squirted tomato sauce on it. Would God have been upset, or would he just have laughed it off?
