In other words, "Don't bother your pretty little head about this American, it's all under control."
Old school. What world does this guy live in? That crap might have worked during the cold war (I won't dignify it with capital letters), but does he seriously think this is a reasonable line of argument. Or has he just revealed far more about his core attitudes than would have intended? Like the paper said, he's being just like Jack Nicolson in A Few Good Men, except what happened in the movie wasn't nearly so bad.
