Ordering Files in Winamp

Update: I made it more proper. It doesn't use shell commands any more, because they're a bit unreliable. Now all the recursive directory stuff is in-script. Although it doesn't search the registry anymore, because that didn't work the same of every machine.

Winamp doesn't let you order files by filename when you add directories, so you always get a random selection. Which is a bit annoying. So I've spent the last 3 hours writing a nifty little script that orders tracks for you. What a time-saver!

enqueue.vbs.txt winamp-order-files.reg.txt

If anyone else wants to use it, remove the ".txt" extensions from both files. Put enqueue.vbs in your root directory (or update the "reg" file) and run the "reg" file. Easy as punch with pie.

Oh yes - as it is, it will replace the existing "Play in Winamp" right-click menu item when you right-click on directories.

And I hate VBScript. With a passion. That whole thing would have taken 5 minutes in bash.

I'm laughing at myself because it's so geeky. I even read the registry to get the path to Winamp. Dear oh dear.
