One of the things I really like about playing with my friends at L'Arche, and one person in particular, is the way in which magic returns to the games. Playing hide and seek with someone who can't see or hear that well and has some minor cognitive hiccups is so exciting. I really can disappear from a tiny bedroom for minutes at a time and in the tiniest of places. And when I re-emerge from the hiding place at truly is a marvel and warrants much shouting and hugging and declarations of love and fondness. It is totally magic.

Free Range Eggs
I found a pretty good SMH article about all the different sorts of eggs. Vegetarians eggs are not free-range eggs. No. They are bad.
The NSW Department of Agriculture also has a handy page on what a free-range label actually means. It's encouraging. People can get prosecuted for labelling eggs free-range when they aren't and the regulations are fairly strict.
Those economists/right-wingers/republicans always complain about regulations. But sometimes it offers such a good simple option. Certainly compared to the whole fair-trade mess which isn't regulated. Although I suppose that is complicated by national borders and the like.

Small Farms
This sort of thing makes me really excited. I could listen to clever people solve problems with mass food production all day long. Apparently, organic farming yields are almost identical to industrial farming yields, but with much better long-term soil quality. So snazzy.
