Musica

Mum, Cherylyn and I went to Up Close and Musical tonight. It was in the theatre in the Botanic Gardens (the Royal ones). We had a great time. There were four or five different groups who played a few brackets (classical music lingo for a "set" I think). And the guy who played the piano on the Beethoven CD made by the guy who was friends with Greg Johnson back in 1999, and asked me to make a website for the CD but didn't like it so got some else to do it, was there at the music thing and he played some music and it was real tidy.

There was a funny old opera singing lady with an eagle nose and a proud bosom.

There was a geeky violin, Young Performer of the Year lad who was good. And a good harp player. And some eager youths who'd come from Sydney University.

When we'd just arrived a man walked up to me and said, with no introduction, "Are you Thomas?" I apologised for not being Thomas and said I'd let him know if I ran into Thomas. I didn't know who Thomas was at that point. But it turned out that Thomas was the geeky Young Performer (who looked uncannily like me). And the guy who asked me was the classical radio show host and the man who'd organised the whole event. When I realised that, I felt very chuffed. I was mistaken for the Australian Young Performer of the Year, and someone who was pretty bloody good at violin to boot.
