Strathfield Soundtrack

I was waiting on Strathfield this morning for the express to Hornsby. It had been a pretty average morning, and I'd forgotten to bring a book so I was just gazing wistfully about. Then I heard gentle hints of Chinese string music coming from somewhere. I vaguely hoped I'd fallen out of my own morning into a Yimou Zhang film. I found a hole in a station that led down to the station tunnel (if you were small enough to fit through the safety grate). The music was lilting happily up through the grate. There must have been a magic Chinese elf down in the tunnel busking I reckon.

  1. By your description I felt like you were somewhere else besides Strathfield aswell.

  2. I wish I’d had the train-lateness-gap-utilisation-courage to pop down and give him (or her) some coins.
