I did my first proper research assisting today. It wasn't really research though. I'm more of a Stata bitch than anything else really. But I liked it. And I worked out how to move files from SAS to Stata. And back again. It was pretty nifty. I even wrote my own little SAS export script. After twoish days of using SAS and Stata, I've concluded that they're both rather snazzy but also pretty much complete bollocks. You get the impression that they feel they can get away with pretty much anything. I'm keen to try out R too.

I spent ages yesterday trying to get a login to access my computer. Eventually they let me use my student login to get in, but I'll have to do it properly at some stage. Someone did however, manage to get me into myUni. Which I didn't even know happened.

So far, I've haven't earnt that much.

  1. I like your blog a lot, Ryan. You write well and say sensible things. Thought you’d like to know. And your turn of phrase is very pleasing, too.

  2. Well thankyou. I thought my blog was no longer read at all.

Although I must say, that wasn’t one of my more interesting posts.
